First Blog Post: The-Fullest-Moon of 2019
The-Fullest-Moon of 2019
“Mid-Autumn” just passed over the weekend, I would have stuffed my face full of moon cakes if I were at home in China. However, I went to see a giant moon under the Gardiner for Mid Autumn, what a great way to celebrate “中秋节”! (Mid Autumn Festival)
This is my first blog post and not gonna lie, I’m not quite sure what kind of direction I should take this blog to, but I think I should just start it by presenting the stuff that I visually documented and just let the pictures tell their own stories.
Jumping into the first bit of our Saturday night adventure, Tenaj and I had some champaign and decided to take a little stroll to The Bentway and look at the giant moon that everyone has been talking about. We passed by Stackt Market on our way and decided to walk a lap and explore. I feel so lucky to have beautiful friends who are willing to explore with me and model for my camera.
I love wandering around so does Tenaj, our curiosity lead us to a really cozy and poetic installation / mural inside one of those cool shipping containers at the Stackt Market.
“Now Here Home” by Broadbent Sisters
It is a contemplative space for reimagining shelter.
Not sure how long their installation is exhibiting for, but if you happen to visit Stackt, make sure you check it out :)
Tenaj and I thought about going to the Belgian Moon brewery at Stackt for some beer, but we traced back to our original mission: go and see the GIANT MOOOOOON! Not the Belgian Moon! Although I would love to get wasted there on a sunny weekend before winter’s completely here.
We were finally close to “Museum of the Moon” by Luke Jerram and certainly weren’t expecting a big crowd of quiet people with their headphones around the moon. We were very confused at first, then we got closer and realized that it was a silent disco set.
Never have I ever experienced a silent disco set, I was very amazed by the giant moon and the quiet crowd of dancing people. I guess the beautiful giant moon basically took my silent-disco-ginity. ><
Not sure what exactly happened here, but I think that maybe my SD card somehow corrupted a couple of shots I was trying to capture and glitched them, I think they turned out surprisingly cool!
I guess this is the end of my first blog post and I hope whoever made it all the way through, liked this post. Thank you very much for your time and effort of reading :)
